Ashgrove Cheese Farm

A fun day in the country where we visited a cheese factory with two of our friends.
An Award Winning Cheese. A link to the website

My husbands best friend, my husband (in the middle) and his cousin, wife of my husband best friend, she is also my best friend.  This couple first met at our house years ago.

These painted cows, well, different!

The above cheese is one thing we bought.  It tastes delicious.

They sell Vodka

Liqueurs.

Tea, Chocolates, Pickles, Beetroot and various other Tasmanian products.
All photos taken with my phone.

  1. Hello Margaret,

What fun the painted cows are!

This looks like a great place to visit and so many goodies to choose from to take home.

We have never tasted lavender flavoured cheese and do wonder what that can be like. We tend to associate it more with sweet things.....but, it would be a taste adventure, that's for sure!

  2. Maybe because it is early in the morning, but my brain cannot comprehend the second photo at all.

  4. Colourful cows????
I don't think statues or photos of them would adorn any stud dairy farm- ha ha!
Would scare off prospective buyers of the stud bulls and cows.

Now that ASHGROVE CHEESE ( in capitals as befitting!) - that is always found
in my fridge and on my shopping list. Unfortunately it is never cheap or on "special".
No bloody way, Margaret, would I come at trying that "lavender cheese", and
come to think of it I have never seen it in the cheese section of a supermarket.
I guess you would have to go to this cheese factory to get it??????
    Cheers
    Colin

    1. They are indeed colourful and different. There are so many real cows in various places to be milked attached to Ashgrove.
That is wonderful you buy Ashgrove Cheese, I recall you mentioned you bought Tasmanian Cheese. I expect you might be able to buy the Lavender Cheese over your way, if the buyer buys it for you to buy....otherwise one would have to at the Cheese factory..it might tell you on their website, there is a link there.

    2. Yes. You do have very good dairy and beef stock in Tasmania.
The beef is all European breeds - Herefords and Angus.
The "sea weed", (KELP???), or whatever it is called that is eaten by the cattle is
exceedingly beneficial for both milk and beef protein.
I forgot to check this morning on the price of Ashgrove Cheese - I knew
I had something to check but when I pass the electronic doors of a supermarket
my "brain" departs - I need a list!!! ha ha.
I shall look at their website, but no way will "Lavender Cheese" enter my system.
Lavender spray for refreshing rooms - not to eat!!!
      Now back to the tennis!
      Cheers
      Colin

  5. I love the cows! Wow, that cheese is expensive. I love good cheese and would love to try your local varieties, especially the lavender.

    1. Tasmanian Cheese can be expensive, cheese on a whole is. We might try a very small sample of Lavender cheese just to see what it tastes like.
